He began life in the youth team at the old Chester City, and in 2007 he was offered his first professional contract.
He played first team football at the Deva for three years, and played regular football at a young age, but that was cut short when the club was expelled from the National League in 2010.
He signed for Cambridge United until the end of the season, and extended the deal by a year in the summer of 2010. He remained at the Abbey for four years with a loan spell with Brackley in-between, and in 2014 he departed following promotion to the Football League.
Roberts joined FC Halifax Town next where he helped the side battle towards the play-offs and seek promotion to the Football League, but the Shaymen just fell short in the semi-finals. The next season was a complete turnaround as Kevin and Halifax suffered relegation to the National League North.
In his third and final season he reached the play-off final where he helped return the Shay back to non-league’s top tier via the play-offs.
In the summer of 2017 Roberts switched Yorkshire for North Wales as the Dragons signed him for an undisclosed fee.
Popular right-back ‘Robbo’ made his debut on the opening day of the 2017/18 season against Macclesfield and was an almost permanent fixture at the right-back position. He was an important part of the record breaking Wrexham back-line during his debut season.
