Hailing from Porthmadog, youngster Leo Smith is a product of the Dragons academy and broke through into the first team during the 2016/17 season.

He spent pre-season with the first team in the summer of 2016 and eventually made his debut for Wrexham in a National League game against Bromley in October that year.

Leo has previously represented Wales at youth team level up to the under-19’s and the Welsh speaker signed an extended deal early in 2017, keeping him on until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Shortly after securing his new deal Smith grabbed his first senior goal in a 1-3 win away at York City to wrap up the three points in April 2017.

In August 2018 Leo made a loan move to Llandudno in the Welsh Premier League which would run until January 2019. He made his debut shortly after in a 0-0 draw away to Carmarthen Town.

Leo’s first goal with his new side came in September 2018 opening the scoring in a 2-0 victory over Welsh Premier title chasers Barry Town United at Maesdu Park.

He capped off the month by winning the Seasiders’ player of the month award.

In January 2019 he made his return to the Racecourse having made 11 appearances and scoring once during his spell on the North Wales coast.
