Experienced striker Stuart Beavon signed for Wrexham on loan in July 2018 from EFL League One side Coventry City

The forward didn’t begin his career by traditional means, he rose through the ranks in non-league football to eventually reach England’s second tier.

He started off with Ipswich Town but by the age of 16 was playing for Ardley United in the Hellenic League – steps nine and ten in the league system.

In 2004 he moved to AFC Wallingford before heading to local rivals Didcot Town for the 2004/05 campaign. In a successful season he would score two goals at White Hart Lane in the FA Vase Final against AFC Sudbury, his 40 goals that season led to promotion which spiked interest from professional clubs.

His next stop was Weymouth in the Conference in 2007 after netting 107 goals in 139 games for Didcot. With 24 goals in his two seasons he earned a loan move to Wycombe Wanderers in 2009.

After promotion to League One an option to make a permanent move was taken up and he had officially made his permanent move to the Football League.

In 2012 he signed for Preston North End where he spent two years before signing for Burton Albion on loan in 2014. He moved to the Pirelli Stadium permanently and would be a major part of their rapid rise up the EFL.

He earned promotions via the League Two title and runners-up of League One before spending a season in the second tier.

In 2017 he moved to Coventry City scoring twice in 14 games during his first season.

He achieved promotion from League Two in 2017/18 but would move away from the Ricoh Arena that summer to join Wrexham on loan.
