One of the first successful products of the Wrexham AFC Women Under-19s system, Lightfoot made her senior debut early in the 2021/22 season.

Having previously played in the youth ranks at Liverpool, she landed at Wrexham in the summer of 2021, initially to play for Gareth Owen’s Under-19s team.

She finished the 2021/22 season as their top scorer, helping them to the Genero Adran U19s North title, but had already established herself as a key senior player by then too.

Lightfoot scored 14 league goals in her first season of senior football, forging a lethal attacking partnership with Rosie Hughes that saw her named Young Player of the Season.

She followed it up with 16 league goals and 20 in all competitions in 2022/23, helping Wrexham to win the Genero Adran North title and earn promotion to the top flight for the first time.

Lightfoot ended the season as both the league and the Club’s Young Player of the Season, and was also nominated for the overall Adran North Player of the Season – missing out to team-mate Rosie Hughes.

Nevertheless, after 37 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions across the previous two seasons, Lightfoot was rewarded with one of the Club’s first semi-professional contracts ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
