Defender Aaron James signed his first professional contract with the club at the age of just 16.

The centre-back joined the club as a youngster and worked his way up through the ranks, before earning a pro-deal just four months into his first year as a scholar.

James made his competitive debut for the club in the fourth round of the FA Trophy against Altringham last season, coming off the bench as Wrexham were eventually knocked out on penalties.

His contract was extended at the end of the 2022/23 season, securing the defender’s services ahead of the club’s return to the EFL.

After a series of impressive performances for the Academy, James was selected to be part of the US pre-season tour.

In what was a history making trip for the Club, he made one appearance coming against Philadelphia Union II.

His first competitive appearance of the season came from the bench against Crewe Alexandra in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

It was only days later he made his first professional start and EFL debut at the STōK Cae Ras versus Salford City.

He made two further starts in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, before exiting the competition after defeat to Burton Albion.
