Luke Bolton joined Wrexham AFC on Transfer Deadline Day from Salford City, bolstering Phil Parkinson's options ahead of the final months of the 2023/24 campaign.

Having started his career in the youth ranks at Manchester City’s academy, he earned seven caps at international level with England’s U20 side, playing in their 2017 Toulon tournament-winning side.

Being brought up in an elite footballing environment with the Citizens, Bolton’s peers included Jadon Sancho, Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden – who all appeared together in the 2017 FA Youth Cup Final.

The winger linked-up with current Wrexham midfielder Elliot Lee at Kenilworth Road during the 2019-20 season, with the pair playing for Luton Town in the Championship.

Bolton’s next journey took him north, as he made the move to Scotland to join up with Scottish Premiership side Dundee United for the 2020-21 campaign.

He decided to leave Manchester City on a permanent basis to find a new home at the Peninsula Stadium, joining Salford City on deadline day in January 2022.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough 2022/23 season under Neil Wood, appearing in all 46 league matches and recording 13 goal contributions over the course of the season.

While the Ammies have struggled during the 2023/24 campaign, Bolton was been a bright spark in a disappointing season – providing five assists this season.

Arriving in North Wales looking to produce a similar output to last season, Bolton will be looking to make an instant impact for the Red Dragons.
