Wrexham AFC confirmed the signing of striker Sam Dalby from Southend United, on August 1, 2022.

Dalby joined the Club on a two-year deal, with the option for a third season, for an undisclosed fee, becoming the fifth new addition of the summer transfer window.

The forward – who started his career at Leyton Orient – was voted Southend’s Young Player of the Year for 2021/22, having scored 10 goals for the Shrimpers.

After starting out with the Os and making his senior debut aged just 16, Dalby’s performances earned a big-money move to then-Championship Leeds United.

A further move to Watford followed, before he linked up with Southend – scoring one of his 10 goals in the 2-2 draw with Wrexham at Roots Hall in September.

Since his move to the STōK Cae Ras in the summer of 2022, Dalby has been an ever-present in the side, having appeared in 41 league matches, scoring six times.
