Wrexham AFC Women to play at The Rock Stadium

Club agree multi-year deal with Cefn Druids

31 March 2023

Wrexham AFC are pleased to announce a multi-year agreement with Cefn Druids that will see Wrexham AFC Women train and play their home games at The Rock Stadium.

In February, the Club announced that we will be applying for a Tier 1 licence for the 2023/24 season, which was granted yesterday, and that the playing squad will also become semi-professional should we win promotion to the Adran Premier.

After the success of Sunday’s historic fixture against Connah’s Quay at the Racecourse Ground, the move continues the progression of our Women’s section.

The match was played in front of 9,511 supporters, smashing the previous attendance record for an FAW domestic fixture.

Speaking on the agreement, Wrexham AFC CEO Fleur Robinson said: “We are pleased to work with Cefn Druids and The Rock Stadium which will provide an excellent home for our Women to train and play.

“It was an important move for us to make as we continue to grow all sections of the Club, and I would like to thank Des Williams for his help in securing the deal.”

And Cefn Druids Chairman Des Williams said “We, as a club, are a huge advocate for the women’s game and Fleur Robinson reaching out regarding hosting their women’s team was a chance to be a part of it.

“The work Fleur and her team have put in has been immense and I’m happy to have them here pushing the game forward”.
