Now the Club’s longest-serving current player, commanding centre-back Katie Sharp was rewarded for her performances at the heart of the defence in the promotion-winning 2022/23 side with a semi-pro contract.

Sharp had already helped play her part in the Club’s redevelopment and remained with the Club as they joined the second tier of Welsh women’s football in 2021.

She made 17 appearances in all competitions in that first season, but it was in the 2022/23 season that Sharp kicked on at the back.

Part of a defensive unit that conceded just six goals in 12 league games during the campaign, Sharp also headed in Wrexham’s stoppage-time goal against title rivals Connah’s Quay, which put them on the brink of their league win.

It was a full redemption arc for Sharp, befitting of the Club’s Hollywood owners, 12 months on from the defender’s costly error on the final day of the previous season.

An ever-present in the 2022/23 campaign, Sharp scored twice in 22 matches in total and was one of the first ten players awarded a semi-professional contract for the 2023/24 season.
